FULL movie is here: http://warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=158561
I was disappointed in the feedback on this one. I put a lot of effort into the editing, but apparantly it was too much. That many people with consistent negative feedback can't be entirely wrong. Because of this feedback, I toned down the editing in the my new warrior movie. I also made sure that my health was always available for the viewer no matter how I was zoomed in. That's a good thing. I learned a new technique which I will apply to future movies.

This is a segment from an upcoming L80 moonkin PvP video. There have been some moonkin videos put out recently that don't even come close to showing the full gameplay that is necessary to solo PvP successfully with a moonkin. The moonkin is by far the most challenging class/build I have solo PvPd with, but recent movies are doing the moonkin a serious disservice by portraying them as nothing but starfall and typhoon.
Some people actually believe that all you have to do is press starfall, run in and win. This, obviously doesn't work. If you don't get chain-CCd, they will just pop their defensive cooldowns and laugh at you. You have to set starfall up against any opponent with a brain. That means trying to survive while they work with superior tools against yours. And, by superior tools.. I mean things like offensive dispels (which moonkins don't have), instacast silences and interrupts (which moonkins don't have), get out of jail free cards (which moonkins don't have), get the picture?
Of the two more recent moonkin videos, one is a pure editing movie that doesn't showcase shifting, cyclone/starfire, kiting, or fighting against our hardest matchups (other casters). The other movie is by a top-end arena player that doesn't show these things either. After the arena player got flamed he went back and changed his introduction to the movie to appease the viewers. Quote:
Moonkins CAN'T do anything else but dmg. Look at the talent tree: dmg, dmg, dmg, range, dmg, a new skill with dmg, dmg and ultimate: DMG!
This... from a top arena players. Pathetic might be the word I'm looking for here. I'm going to try to refute this perception, but I doubt I will successful as the "moonkin don't take any skill" mindset has taken strong root.
Be sure to watch in highest definition. The quality is pretty good.

Hehe, i knew it was going to be Nine Inch Nails again when i saw the title of the post :)
The bit looks great, i have a druid myself but moonkin never really attracted me -- actually pvping as a druid didn't really attract me, though your feral movies were pretty cool. I guess I never really understood moonkins, i never specced balance, so i'm sort of a layman here. All i know is that they are kind of defenseless, and that's about it. I look forward to the full movie. And of course, glad you're still around.
I've been pretty busy in game making money, levelling alts for Cataclysm, doing trades etc. The movie was released but I didn't make a post here.

Really mixed bag of reaction. I seem to be a divider and not a uniter when it comes to movies. ;)
Man, the only thing i'm divided between, is if you're the best rogue in the world or best overall player in the world :).
You've done a great job with this movie again, i saw people bitched about zooming, they probably weren't used to your style, it seemed perfectly normal to me, for an oozo movie. I was eating when i watched your movie and i almost choked a couple of times, it was real funny and entertaining.
When i saw they're removing perma-tree form in cata, i respecced my druid to balance so i can get the idea now about what was going on in the movie, and i must say you handle yourself quite well. It's hard to time a cyclone for interrupting, GCD is a big factor, pop starfall at the wrong time, before a stun or a fear and it's goodbye, anything that packs a punch has a cast time... nice work man. Another 5 star, hope you got more for us.
Sorry for the slow replies. Back to RL work, etc.
Thanks for the praise, but I've always seens myself as a "flashy" player rather than a consistent player. That is mainly because I take a lot of chances. The goal is to entertain, afterall.
So, I have moments of brilliance (IMHO! - lol) and moments of epic failure. I typically don't include the latter of the two in my movies. ;-D
I think you are pretty consistent. Doing your own thinking with every char that you play is a measure of consistency. From day one, i think back in the day Chromed was specced something like 5/21/26 and running with daggers and you still got things done. The flash that comes with a job, i see it more as a side effect. The approach to the game is also consistent, you're playing what you think is right for you, not the flavor of the month. You're like the Ramones of WoW. They said stuff in their songs that no one ever thought of before, or didn't think it was allowed to -- you know, being locked in the basement or beating on the brat with a baseball bat -- and you also did stuff in WoW i never seen before, with your own unique style of editing, music and attitude.
So as far as delivering the goods, i'd say you're pretty consistent, which makes me consistently checking your blog for updates. Cause and effect, eh.
Really glad you're still making movies man :)

Hey, Pishkin. Didn't notice your comment. Probably too late now, but what are you up to?
